Whenever the Prophet went near his friends, they always stood up at once. One day, he could not put up with it anymore and said,

"Do not stand up as Iranians do by looking up to one another; do not stand up when I come in because I am a person who eats like a slave and who sits like a slave."

In a similar incidence, he added the following:

"Do not stand up for anybody. Only Allah deserves to be stood up for."

Afterwards, when he entered a place, his friends refrained from standing up and went on sitting.
